Update: here’s some recaps of the weekend - another sweet one in the books!
WORS Women meet Ray! (video)
WORS Women at Ray’s MTB Park for Women’s Weekend 2010 from Team WORS on Vimeo.
A dozen women from Wisconsin made the trek to Cleveland for Ray’s annual Women’s Weekend. The event was outstanding - even better than last year! We had a great time riding at the park, brought home some schwag from the raffle and autographed copies of Women of Dirt - and met Ray himself. Thanks to the Ray’s Crew and especially Nina for making Women’s Weekend great!
Ray’s Indoor MTB Park is in Cleveland Ohio. They’re hosting their annual Ladies Weekend on February 19 (Fri) & February 20 (Sat). WORS Women are going to be there and hope you’ll be with us.

ORGANIZING THE TRIP
Regina has kindly agreed to take the lead in organizing a group trip for anyone who wants to carpool and share lodging expenses at the World Famous Cleveland Ohio Airport Holiday Inn.
Check Regina’s blog and leave a comment or email her. She also invited people via her Facebook, so if you Facebook - you can check there for information about organization. If that doesn’t work for you, feel free to comment here and/or email us at worswomen at gmail dot com.

ADVICE
Since I’ve been to ladies weekend before, I have a little advice to offer (take it or leave it!). If you have advice about Ray’s, leave a comment!
Don’t bring your bike. Ray’s has great rental bikes. They’re either free or very inexpensive. They also have pads and helmets. They have a variety of bike styles that work well for ladies, from the Gary Fisher Mullet with suspension, to true BMX and dirt jump bikes. On Women’s Weekend, there will be DEMO bikes for ladies from more than one major company. The different areas at Rays can be enjoyed on a variety of bikes, and I think many are more fun on a dirt jump or BMX style bike. I think most people will be very happy using the bikes at Ray’s, happier than if they bring their own bike.
Reserve a rental bike in advance. If you want something in particular, let them know. And hands off my THREE57! correction: they no longer reserve rental bikes in advance. It’s first-come, first serve. They don’t have my Black Market Three57 this year, either - but they do have a nice selection of light dirt jump bikes and promised to help me find one that was great. Cool.
Be there on Friday. Friday until 5 PM is ladies only. It’s also when the Pros hold skills clinics, we get a free lunch, there are giveaways, and great demos. It’s the best time to be there, and I’d recommend you be there if you can.
Bring the boys. Why not!? It’s fun.
