Willing to mentor a WORS Junior?
Absolutely. I’ve been a mentor in the Big Sisters program twice, and it is fantastic. That + a bike probably can’t go wrong.
How long have you been riding?
About two years.
Bikes you ride / love?
An ‘07 GF Big Sur, and an ‘08 GF Paragon 29er
Do you ride for a team?
I ride for Team WORS and Twin Six!
Why do you ride / race?
For fun!
Favorite breakfast before a race / big ride?
I can’t eat anything 2-3 hours before a race, so I need to force myself to eat by 10:30. I’ve had good luck with heavy, bakery Cinnamon Raisin bread. Or a Muddy Cup Smoothie. When I’m not racing I eat chocolate for breakfast and/or a burrito. Seriously.
Favorite trail?
Still loyal to my muddy lady, Milwaukee’s River Trail
Best riding / racing moment(s)?
So many. My first ride ever, at Crystal Ridge. First time I won an overall race, in the mud. Riding a good, fast-lap with Matt at the Kettles last summer, hearing him work a little to catch me. ^_^ Riding with the ladies field at the beginning of almost every Elite race - it’s great to ride fast with other women.
Favorite post-ride ritual or snack?
Sushi for dinner makes the day almost perfect.
Best advice you ever got?
Don’t compete with others, compete with yourself.

Hi Claire!
Thank you so much for all your help with the learn to race clinic on Sunday. I ended up having a great time with the first timer race and actually took 2nd on the SS. I’ll be doing Citizen next week at Big Ring, hopefully I will see you there! Thanks again!
Danielle
Thanks Danielle! It was fun riding with you too. You were killing it on those powerclimbs with the singlespeed! I have to miss the Saturday Clinic next week, but I’ll be at the race on Sunday and I’m going to scream my head off cheering for you if I see you ride by - fair warning. ^_^ Cheers!
